Users of your website must be informed about the storage and use of their data. To ensure that a user of your website is informed about all the cookies you use, a cookie banner is used. Since we have implemented a cookie banner for our website, we have thoroughly evaluated and compared various software providers of cookie banner tools.
In consultation with our lawyer, we have decided to implement Cookie Bot. Based on our experience with this software, we would like to provide you with insight into its usage. Of course, you can use a different tool for displaying your cookie banner, but we cannot provide assistance with implementation and usage in that case.
We would like to emphasize that this assistance does not constitute legal advice, and we do not assume any liability for the accuracy of the information regarding your cookie information. This document is intended to serve as an initial overview so that you can gain insight into the use of the tool.
Setup

First, you need to create a user account at https://manage.cookiebot.com/de/signup. The cost of the tool is €9 per month per registered domain.

Using the 'Settings' tab, you can make all the necessary customizations for your cookie banner and manage them.

Requirements for Custom Frontend
When creating a custom frontend or having one created by an agency, you must pay attention to the following points:
- You need to register two domains with Cookie Bot, namely both the domain of your frontend and the subdomain through which the investment process is represented.
- It is not possible to represent both processes on the same domain, which is why the two separate cookie banners are necessary.
- To display the cookie banner in your frontend, a script must be embedded in the header of your website.

- Through the domain group, you can create a uniform presentation for multiple domains.
- You can create new domain groups and edit or remove existing ones using the colored plus/minus signs.
- Once you have defined your domain group, you specify through the domain names on which domains the cookie banner will be displayed.

- Using the 'Dialog Box' tab, you can customize the appearance of your cookie banner to match your corporate identity, ensuring that it integrates well into the overall look of your website.
- You are not bound by any specific guidelines and can choose the settings as you prefer.
- The explanation pertains to the Cookie Declaration, which is a list of all cookies on the website. The default settings provide a good representation, and we recommend keeping them.

- Using the checkboxes on the left-hand side, you can preview the cookie banner settings you have configured.

The storage of cookies in the CrowdDesk system is set to 30 days in the privacy policy. This refers to the default settings stored in the system. You can individually adjust this setting for your platform instance under Settings > Advanced > Cookie Lifetime. Please ensure that the information in your privacy policy matches the setting stored in the system.
